Recipe Makes: 6-8 servings

Prep Time: 2 hrs

Cook Time: 20 minutes

Total Time: 2 hrs 20 minutes

INGREDIENTS:

2 cups milk

3/4 tbsp yeast

3 1/2 cup flour

2 eggs

2 tbsp sugar

1/4 tsp salt

1 tbsp vanilla extract

4 tbsp butter melted

Corn oil for frying

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Start off by warming up the milk until it is 100f-115f. Add in yeast and let sit for 5-7 minutes for the yeast to activate. Add the milk and flour to a large bowl and mix together. Let it rise covered with clear wrap for 1 hr or until it doubles.
  2. Add in the eggs, vanilla extract, sugar, salt, and butter. Mix until well combined. Then cover with clear wrap and let sit for 1 more hr or until it doubles.
  3. Add corn oil to a large skillet. Once hot add in the batter and fry. (Wet the spoon in between each scoop to help the batter come off easily.)
  4. Fry each side until it’s golden brown. Enjoy with honey or jam.
