Recipe Makes: 1 cup

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Total Time: 15 minutes

INGREDIENTS:

2 cups heavy whipping cream; chilled

DIRECTIONS:

  1. In a bowl of a stand mixer, pour in heavy whipping cream and turn the mixer on. Start on low power and slowly move up to high. After about 6 minutes on high, the heavy whipping cream will start to fluff up.
  2. Keep mixing for another couple minutes and and the butter will come apart from the buttermilk. Keep mixing until the butter and buttermilk and completely separated and the butter is a solid piece.
  3. After about 10 minutes of mixing the butter should be separated. Drain the buttermilk (I save it and use it in mashed potatoes) while holding the butter back with a spatula so it doesn’t fall out. Squish out all the buttermilk from the butter.
  4. One finished, scoop into a ramekin and chill before serving. Serve with homemade bread. Enjoy!
