Recipe Makes: 1 cup
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Total Time: 15 minutes
INGREDIENTS:
2 cups heavy whipping cream; chilled
DIRECTIONS:
- In a bowl of a stand mixer, pour in heavy whipping cream and turn the mixer on. Start on low power and slowly move up to high. After about 6 minutes on high, the heavy whipping cream will start to fluff up.
- Keep mixing for another couple minutes and and the butter will come apart from the buttermilk. Keep mixing until the butter and buttermilk and completely separated and the butter is a solid piece.
- After about 10 minutes of mixing the butter should be separated. Drain the buttermilk (I save it and use it in mashed potatoes) while holding the butter back with a spatula so it doesn’t fall out. Squish out all the buttermilk from the butter.
- One finished, scoop into a ramekin and chill before serving. Serve with homemade bread. Enjoy!
