Crispy Oven Baked Bread

Recipe Makes: 1 loaf

Prep Time: 1 hr 50 min

Cook Time: 50-55 min

Total Time: 2 hrs 40 min

INGREDIENTS:

2 tsp honey

1 ¼ cup water; warm 100-115 F

2 tsp active dry yeast

1 tsp salt

3 ½ cup all-purpose flour

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Warm the water until it is around 100-115F. Combine water and honey, and yeast into a mixing bowl. Let it sit and activate for 5-7 minutes.
  2. Add in flour and salt to the bowl and knead the dough until it all comes together. Cover with clear wrap and let sit for 1 hr.
  3. Knead the dough and shape it into a ball. Let the dough rise in a well floured bowl for 30 minutes.
  4. While the dough is rising preheat the oven to 450F with the dutch oven in there.
  5. Remove the dutch oven from the oven, be careful because it will be very hot. Carefully place the bread into it.
  6. Cook for 30-35 minutes covered. And then 10-15 uncovered or until the crust is golden brown.
