Recipe Makes: 12 servings
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 40-50 minutes
Total Time: 55-65 minutes
INGREDIENTS:
1 lb filo dough
1 ½ cup feta cheese
1 ½ cup farmer cheese
¼ cup corn oil
1 egg
½ cup sour cream
DIRECTIONS:
- Prep: Grab a baking dish and brush it with corn oil. Preheat the oven to 350 F. Mix together the feta and farmer cheese together in a bowl.
- Start off by taking your filo dough out of the packaging and laying it down flat. Grab 1 layer and lightly dab it with corn oil. I recommend dabbing with a silicone brush instead of a regular brushing since brushing could rip the dough. (Cover the dough you are not using with a towel since it dries out very quickly).
- Repeat step 2 until you have a total of 4 layers. Stack the layers on top of each other. Grab another dough sheet and place in top of the oiled up dough. Then spread 1 cup of the cheese mixture at the edge of the layered dough and then tightly wrap it up.
- Place the dough into the baking dish and repeat until you have used all of the dough. Brush the remaining oil onto the rolls.
- Mix together the sour cream and egg in a bowl and pour it on top of the rolls.
- Bake at 350 F for 40-50 minutes or until the top is golden brown. Let cool before slicing. Enjoy!
