Recipe Makes: 6-8 servings

Prep Time: 10 min

Cook Time: 1 hr

Total Time: 1 hr 10 min

INGREDIENTS:

2 cups sour cream

2 cups sugar

3 cups flour

2 tbsp cocoa powder

5 eggs

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp white vinegar

2 sticks or butter; melted

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350F. In a ramekin combine the baking soda and white vinegar. Once the mixture fizzes add it to a medium bowl with the sour cream. Mix it all together and let sit for 5 minutes.
  2. In a large bowl combine flour and sugar, mix to combine evenly. Then add in the eggs and melted butter, whisk until everything is combined.
  3. Then gently fold in the fluffy sour cream, careful to not deflate it. Pour the batter into two separate bowls, add cocoa powder to one bowl and leave the together bowl alone.
  4. Oil up a springform pan and start to add in the batters. I like to add in a little bit of vanilla then chocolate to the center, and keep going until I’ve used up all of the batter. Then I take a toothpick and swirl a design on top.
  5. Bake the cake at 350 F for 1 hr or until a toothpick poked into the center comes out clean. Let the cake cool for 10 minutes in the pan and then take it out. Enjoy!
