Cranberry Sauce

Recipe Makes: 2 cups

Prep Time: 1 minute

Cook Time: 12 minutes

Total Time: 13 minutes

INGREDIENTS:

1 bag cranberries

½ cup water

juice from 1 medium orange

1 orange peel

¼ cup granulated sugar

½ cup light brown sugar

DIRECTIONS:

  1. PREP: Wash and dry the cranberries. Use a peeler to peal an orange peel. Then juice the orange.
  2. In a large pot add in orange juice, water, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Simmer on medium heat and stir constantly until the mixture comes together and starts to bubble slightly. Should take about 2 minutes.
  3. Add in the cranberries and cook on low fire stirring occasionally. Add in the orange peel once the berries start to pop. Should take about 5 minutes.
  4. Cook until the cranberries start to become soft and sauce starts to thicken. Take off heat and toss out the orange peel. Enjoy!

Other ways to eat cranberry sauce:

  • spread on toast or pancakes
  • spread on a turkey sandwich
  • use in dressing of vinaigrette
  • spread it over a cream cheese bagel
  • add it to fruit smoothies
  • use as a dip
  • use it for a tangy barbecue sauce
  • on top of a cheesecake
  • spread over crackers and cheese
  • mix into oatmeal
