Apple Pie Oatmeal Bake

Recipe Makes: 4-6 servings

Prep Time: 40 minutes

Cook Time: 40-50 minutes

Total Time: 1 hr 20-30 minutes

INGREDIENTS:

2 cups oatmeal (I used old fashioned)

1 tsp baking powder

¼ tsp cinnamon (if you really like cinnamon, add more)

1 ½ cup milk

¼ cup butter; melted/softened

¼ cup honey

2 tsp vanilla extract

2 eggs

2 medium apples

1 cup walnuts; chopped

DIRECTIONS:

  1. In large mixing bowl, combine oatmeal, baking powder, and cinnamon. Mix until well combined.
  2. Then add in milk, butter, honey, vanilla extract, and eggs. Mix until everything is well incorporated. And let sit for 30 minutes. While the oatmeal is soaking, chop up the apples into small cubes.
  3. After the time has passed, stir in your apple and walnuts. Grab a baking dish and butter it up.
  4. If using a glass baking dish: put the dish into the oven before preheating. The glass can shatter if there is an extreme temperature change. Place the oatmeal into the dish and bake at 350 F for 40-50 minutes. Or until the top starts to brown.
  5. Top it off with some Dulce de Leche Ice Cream. Enjoy!
